Remembering days when
we were children
restlessly innocent
we'd run around and play
jump around and say
i can't wait to grow up
up until that day.
everything gets harder
dreams...
they all get farther.
we forget why we are living
question...
whether life was really given.
until we never stop to smell the air
until we never care
to watch the sun go down
until we never cry before a crowd
for shame
we've lost all innocence
distance ourselves
until life makes sense
older now
we've loved and lost friends
colder now
learned to meet ends
calloused and proud
searching then found
and then, lost again.
